Denver was a member of the Hall of Fame as its the first member in 2011. Many consider Denver to be the image of Colorado. On my journeys around the world, I've met a lot of individuals who do not hail from Colorado. They will say, "Oh John Denver!" When they hear you come from Colorado. Brown said. Take Me Home Country Roads written by co-writer Bill Danoff - was Denver's first Top 10 single as a solo artist following a short stint in small folk bands. Danoff created the track with Johnny Cash in mind but when Denver saw an early rendition he knew right away the track could become the next hit single. The song was recorded just several weeks after the Washington D.C. performance.
