She became famous through "Saturday Night Live." Amy Meredith Poehler was born in Newton, Massachusetts, September 16, 1971. Eileen Poehler, her parents, were both teachers. Greg, Amy's younger brother is a producer and actor. Amy was born in Burlington Massachusetts as a young child. Amy got her acting bug at age 10, when she portrayed Dorothy, the Wizard of Oz's middle school character. High school drama was her forte. Also, she was a part of the student council and a coach for the student council. In 1989, she graduated high school and was enrolled in Boston College. Amy was a part of a college improv comedy group. She graduated from Boston College 1993.
